🚨Neighbourhood Update🚨 🚔OP checkpoint was carried out in the Weardale, Tow Law and Crook areas last Wednesday. Patrols on Wednesday night saw officers team up with our Rural Watch volunteers who assisted us in developing intelligence and dealing with any suspicious vehicles or behaviour. 👮♀️Yesterday, a male was arrested for assault in relation to an incident in the Crook area. The male was located and arrested within 45 minutes of the initial report. 🏫The PCSOs have carried out various school visits across the last 2 weeks including when PCSO Smith and PCSO Harrison joined DAAC (Durham Agency Against Crime) on their final mini police session at St Cuthberts Primary School, Crook. Officers educated the children on the different types of Anti-social Behaviour and the role of a PCSO. 🔹Andrew White has been sentenced to prison in relation to a number of offences in Crook and across the county. These offences include driving offences, theft and criminal damage. 🚗Our local Speed watch volunteers have been out and about since the last neighbourhood update. They have observed 473 vehicles, 44 of which were caught speeding and will be issued warning letters. 🔺Paul Harland has been sentenced to prison for various shoplifting offences. 🚓Over the weekend, Special Constable Hayes, Special Constable Palmer and PCSO Turnbull have been out and about with the Speed Gun in the Weardale area and also Hunwick. A number of drivers were given words of advice and one driver has been reported for driving offences. Durham Special Constabulary 🟣Last week, Crook NPT were visited by staff from Cornerstone Supported Housing and Counselling to discuss partnership working and how the charity can provide support in our area. Cornerstone are a homelessness charity dedicated to fostering positive change in the northeast. They provide emergency accommodation and homelessness hubs amongst lots of other kinds of support for individuals.
